In February 2024 we created content for all the screens at the International Petroleum Technology Conference that took place in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It was a huge undertaking that included full CG opening video for the biggest screen we have ever worked with – 48 by 5,5 meters as well as background video content for the rest of the three-day conference. We also did 9 background videos for other conference screens that were used for different topic discussions.
The main topics of the screen were: oil, energy, life. But we couldn’t show the oil itself, nor any oil refining equipment or technology. We had to find a metaphoric or symbolic way to tell our story. We decided to visualize the idea of energy with several different symbols: bright city lights, speed of transportation and flying sparks, which represent data transfer that affects news and science, our social life and emotions. Oil connects people and makes our world a more comfortable place to live.
This video was part of the opening day presentation and played with a laser show which was perfectly synchronized with the images on screen.
